DADO – LILAC ALLOY BY TONAL FORMS FREE LIBRARY
Whilst perusing the deals in the current Native Instruments partner sale on their website, I stumbled upon this little gem, and had to backtrack in order to confirm the facts, after I read that it was a free download.
Happy to report that it’s absolutely true, so this is a case of something for the weekend sir, and never look a gift horse in the mouth!!!
So what is Lilac Alloy?, well apparently it’s ‘A three-dimensional Cube to control an organic-metallic textural palette through intuitive gestures’, not my words but those from the product page.
I can tell you that it does sound pretty decent, has NKS mapping, and makes good use of aftertouch with intensity, pan, filter, & tuning all pre-assigned, you can get some great note bending effects when you apply the right velocity pressure.
Actually it’s little wonder that it sounds so good, as it has been created by none other than Native Instruments own Francesco Sabatini. For those who don’t know, he has been behind some of Native Instruments prominent libraries in recent years, Kithara, Action Strings 2, LCO Producer Strings, Schema both Dark & Light, Lores, Fables, Valves & Valves Pro, Playbox, & Hypha, to name a few, that’s a pedigree that’s hard to match!
