New NKS library releases and update for this month include updated IK Multimedia and XLN Audio libraries

‍IK Multimedia NKS Library Updates / Releases

‍This HUGE bundle offers full NKS browsing of all content available in the Total Studio 5 MAX collection, browse, load and control all the instruments and expansion content within this collection from this single bundled and discounted library. Supports all content in Total Studio 5 MAX (currently no plans to release versions for the Pro or Standard versions at this time but please let us know if this is of interest)
 
The following Total Studio 5 MAX content is covered in this bundle. Each separate instrument will appear as a separate browsable instrument in your Maschine and Komplete Kontrol NKS browser, fully tagged, with sound previews and where possible, full control of the sound. For plug-ins such as SampleTank where there are many expansions, these will all be listed as Banks you can select for browsing.

‍‍Updated content library to support SampleTank 4 content for Total Studio 5. This update includes the following NKS libraries

Updated bundles are now available along with upgrade options for users who have the previous Total Studio 3.5 release from 2023, just select the upgrade option on the page to get a discounted update for the latest content libraries.
 
 
NKS Library: IK Multimedia Pianoverse MAX

‍NKS library available for Pianoverse MAX allowing browsing and full control of all 9 piano models.

Includes tagged presets, sound previews, artwork/database files and full controller map.

PLease Note: Pianoverse has obnoxiously huge sample libraries for the pianos, 40GB for some ianos which can take a long time to load and will be affected obviously by HDD and computer speed. When loading a preset for the first time or switching between piano models be aware it could take up to 1-2 minutes to load a piano, faster if you have a fast SSD but this is not an ideal plugin to preset flip.

All controls however are nicely laid out allowing easy adjustment of all parameters, velocity and sound settings.

The NKS library does offers tagged browsing with sound previews and loading of the presets fine but offers no parameter control as there is simply nothing open in the plugin to map. I raised this issue with IK, they simply said “that is how it is, maybe add a feature request” and closed my ticket. so I have created a feature request HERE which I would encourage users to add their voice but having dealt with IK for years and had nothing but issues with their download managers, USB drives, software and previous bugs reported that still remain in Sampletank, I don’t hold much faith in them listening to user requests but at least you can browse and load the sounds just sadly control is available only via Mouse!
 

NKS Library: XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2

NKS library now available for the latest Addictive Drums 2 kit: Progressive Metal. 

Library includes a separate library for standard AD2 MIDI Mapping as well as a GM MIDI Mapped version selectable using the NKS Bank Selector in Komplete Kontrol or Maschine. 

All presets have been modified to enable Pitch and Envelope control from hardware as most presets have these disabled for this kit, allows adjustment of pitch control for all kit pieces. 

Work is also being done to offer multi-output configured presets for users that wish to rout the separate channels within their DAW. 
‍Updates to ALL XLN AD2 Kits
‍An update is now available for all Addictive Drums libraries. Latest version of all libraries is 3.0.2

This is a further update to the previous updates last month that enabled the Pitch Control for all kit pieces so pitch can be controlled from the keyboard (some kit pieces have it set OFF by default) however a further problem to this is the fact some kit pieces also have the whole Pitch Envelope section set off which still blocks pitch from being adjusted.

This update now enables the Pitch Envelope to Enabled for all kit pieces in all kits along with the pitch control and is aimed to assist blind users to access this pitch control without having to enable the pitch envelope section via mouse as it does not have host automation available to set a control for it. XLN Audio have actually said they will look to add Host Automation for these parameters if possible and are one of the most responsive companies to user feedback especially around accessibility so I cannot recommend them enough! 

While this should now allow all kit pieces in all kits to have the pitch adjustable from the controller, it may cause some kits to have filters and envelopes applied where they shouldn’t so some kits may not sound as they do in the sound preview but can easily be adjusted by switching these sections off if required, just something to be aware. 

I have not had time to test all of this in-depth and the main reason for this update was to assist visually impaired users who cannot enable the pitch envelope easily and there is no host automation ability for this either. 

If it is found the changes cause issues in the sound of kits I will consider offering both this modified version along with the original unmodified version so please offer feedback if you find any problems in this update.
 

I wanted to take a short moment to just state that I do what I do because I love doing it. No part of anything I do uses AI tools, the website, images, scripting and library creation… all done by human hands and while some aspects could be made faster using AI to generate images or “vibe” code things into existance, I am a firm believer and take a piece of historical advice of doing the things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.
