FABULOUS FREEBIES FROM THE NI USER FORUM

FABULOUS FREEBIES FROM THE NI USER FORUM

Thanks to a dedicated small circle of Komplete Kontrol users from the Native Instruments user forum, there is a constant stream of new NKS presets being created for some of the more obscure plugins and instruments that are not always on the radar of Freelance Soundlabs, who in general cater for the more mainstream commercial products.

This week there has been a few little gems made available which might take your fancy if you are short on cash, inspiration or both!

Kymeia from the group, has made some NKS presets for the following existing free Reaktor user libraries:

Rubiter Ate, a very quirky and interesting sounding VA with a formant subosc and drawable LFO.

Wilderbeast, an old Reaktor ensemble, originally by David Hobson:

Padrone 1 and Padrone 2.2 by AuReality

Thump One

Finally, from Toybox who gave away a free NKS ready Reaktor library a while back, they have now released Thump One, which is their own free version of a new instrument.

You will need to grab your copy of the plug-in from their website here:
https://www.toyboxaudio.com/pages/thump-one

and then use the NKS presets available from the user forum dropbox here:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/lfiqricer4a87d9x8ulce/h?rlkey=q0xc0js97l51kxdj3u9j7wjsp&dl=1

The usual procedure applies, place the unarchived Thump One folder into your user content folder and rescan, as it’s also a new plugin it might also be necessary to rescan in the standalone application.

Reaktor Libraries

I believe that the full version of Reaktor will be needed for these to work rather than the free Reaktor player.

To grab the Reaktor libraries from the links above, you need to log into your account on the Native Instruments website, and then download the archive files from the links provided.

After unzipping them, place the relevant folder into your user content folder, where Komplete Kontrol should rescan them, they will show up on the user side of KK under Reaktor.

Included in the archive are the related image files that can be cut and pasted into the NI Resorces folder.

There are some interesting presets here that lean toward the modular nature of how Reaktor works, and some are certainly experimental in their style, don’t forget that if a preset appears to be silent, try pressing your DAW play button, as some presets rely on a midi clock to drive them.
