Emergence Audio are continuing to process an expanding range of instruments through their unique Infinite Motion Engine™ for Kontakt, , and this new release takes the low timbres of the Double Bass on a new sonic voyage of experimentation and discovery.

ACCESSIBILITY
If you already own any of the previous Emergence Audio Kontakt Player licensed libraries, then yu will immediately feel quite at home with the Double Bass Textures NKS page mapping.
Each of these previous releases have also now been updated to be uniform across all products, so editing the sounds and instrument page navigation will be familiar across every library.
DOUBLE BASS PRESETS
the factory content has as always been thoughtfully designed to showcase the potential of the Infinite Motion Engine™, , and to this end there are specific preset types which typify these categories.
Correlated, Infinite Drones, Infinite Pads, Pulses, Swells, and Experiments, are the preset types which existing owners will already have experience with, but Bends, is something new which puts to good effect some of the nuances of the instrument in question.
DOUBLE BASS BY DESIGN
The ability to select the loaded sample type for each of the available sound layers was introduced several releases back, and along with the randomise button goes along way in enabling us to further personalise the patches to our project needs.
Emergence Audio use their Non-static Sampling™ to capture the depth, tone and performance traits of the subject instrument for each of their libraries, and the available sample pool reflect this.
In Double Bass Textures, there are 16 sample articulations available for each layer consisting of:
FLAUTANDO NO VIBRATO
FLAUTANDO VIBRATO
FLAUTANDO MUTED
NORMALE MUTED
NORMALE NO VIBRATO
PUNTA D’ARCO
PUNTA D’ARCO REVERSE
SUL PONT MUTED
SUL PONT NO VIBRATO
SUL PONT VIBRATO
SUL TASTO MUTED
SUL TASTO NO VIBRATO
SUL TASTO VIBRATO
TREMOLO
DETACHED
DETACHED REVERSE
These articulations offer enough variation in order that the engine can process them into an audibly fascinating set of non static presets.
As the engine is dual layer in nature, you can combine any two combinations of these articulation types to easily modify existing presets and come up with something unique to you.
Failing this, the presence of the randomise control means that you will never be short of having a never ending supply of new presets, which you can then go on and tweak a little further to your own taste.
THE TEXTURAL MULTIVERSE
To their credit, Emergence Audio have always made a point of including a folder containing a set of Kontakt multi presets, which although not usable directly within Komplete Kontrol, are nevertheless an appreciated bonus which can be loaded directly into Kontakt using our own per platform community access solutions.
There are 16 multi’s available within Double Bass Textures, which cover a good variety of moods, and being multi in nature there is plenty of textural movement to keep your soundscapes flowing and interesting.
I would strongly recommend watching the excellent in depth walkthrough from Emergence Audio at the review footer, which explores the many facets of this atmospheric library.
CONCLUSION
By nature of it’s natural pitch range, Double Bass Textures is perhaps a little less melodic than other instrument subjects in the series, however it still holds a strong and valid position in the sound stage, with it’s organic and gritty bowed low end adding a real sense of drama and tension to your tracks.
It will work perfectly alongside other Emergence Audio libraries, or equally as an individual entity for creative’s working with film scoring, media, game and ambient soundscapes who are seeking to add a unique layer of darkness into their compositions.
The NKS accessibility remains of a high standard, with equal parity available directly in Kontakt due to the same parameters being offered when loaded outside of KK, and viewing the controls in a DAW parameter list.
