Normalising The Conversation – The Road To AAccessible Music Tech

Normalising The Conversation, The Road To Accessible Music Tech is a free online event designed to bring music equipment manufacturers, retailers and educators together under one umbrella to have light hearted yet fruitful conversations regarding the current state of music technology worldwide and how can we quickly and effectively take it to the next level by working together.

The event will be 2 hours long and will consist of 2 panels consisting of key members from several sectors of the music tech industry discussing a range of topics including  accessibility in new and current hardware and software, raising awareness of the need for accessibility in all areas of the music industry, providing the necessary training once the technology becomes accessible and marketing opportunities for manufacturers and retailers for products that are made accessible.

There will also be a 30 minute workshop hosted by Jason Dasent, a visually impaired music producer, audio engineer lecturer and accessibility consultant on what is possible when a recording studio is fully accessible.

In addition to the 2 panels, the floor will also be opened to attendees to encourage discussion that will spark new ideas and collaborations.

The event is virtual on zoom and will be held on Friday January 8th 2021 at 3 PM GMT.

Companies included in the event are:
Native Instruments, Antares, Focusrite/Novation, Arturia, Avid, Creative United, The UK Music Industries Association MIA and the British And Irish Modern Music Institute BIMM.
